rendering 3d scenes for a living is a lot like being a virtual photographer - You end up having to consider a lot of the same things: framing and composition, light and shadow values, focal length &
depth of field, motion blur, lens flare, bounce lighting, and more. it's really important to pay close attention to how light behaves, how it interacts with your subject, and how cameras physically opperate in the real world, so you can replicate that look and get the results you want.
I'm not a professional photographer, but i do take it seriously. in fact, I love geeking out about techniques and equipment so much that I actually developed my own curriculum for a photography workshop that I volunteered to teach to disadvanted youth. I was completely impressed with those kid's natural creativity behind the lens. The piece to the right, titled "two hands, one heart." was taken by an 11 year old girl living in the infamous down town East side of vancouver.
I put a lot of time and effort into that program, so I decided to make the workshop notes available to the public in the lniks above.
We Destroy Tokyo
Back in 2007, some friends and I formed We Destroy Tokyo (W.D.T.) AFTER JAMMING AT A HOUSE PARTY, and we've been jamming together ever since. There have been many line-up changes over the years with various members coming and going. At it's largest W.D.T. had 8 members on stage: Lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, drums, synth, trumpet, baritone sax, and trombone.
We are mostly an instrumental band with a Mercurial sound that spans many genres. starting out with elements of funk, blues, and big band influences, our sound has evolved over the years to incorporate elements of psychedelic and hard rock, electronic instumentation, and some vocals.
We all have hectic day jobs, so finding time to play gigs is hard, but we have had some great shows, from Vancouver's Car Free day Festival to local indie venues and block parties.

- User curated playlists covering every style of music you could want. My go to app for work out music at the gym.
- The best music discovery service there is, in my opinion. Unfortunately, it's not currently available in Canada, that is unless you know the secret.
- Another great streaming music service.
